Welcome to Ruffhouse Jiu Jitsu

Ruffhouse Brazilian Jiu Jitsu started in Arizona in 1999 under Professor Arthur Ruff. Professor Ruff's extensive Jiu Jitsu background, Judo background, and coaching and competition experience make Ruffhouse Jiu Jitsu one of a kind.

Benefits Of Jiu Jitsu Training:

  • Children (4-12 years old): The best gift you can give your child is positive self-esteem. Positive self-esteem gives your child the ability to excel in all areas of their life, from the school room to the playground.

  • Teenagers (13-17 years old): Martial Arts is particularly helpful during this rebellious phase of life. By learning, knowing and maintaining the Martial Arts system of hierarchy, teens cultivate friendships, learn discipline, become self-confident and develop respect for others.

  • Adults (18-39 years old): Martial Arts offers men and women a health and fitness program while combining flexibility, endurance, weight loss and muscle toning. Martial Arts also develops friendships, self-discipline, self-confidence and self-esteem.

  • Executives (40-59 years old): Training in Martial Arts helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol while relieving stress, increasing your energy, muscle tone and stamina in a fun and friendly but safe environment.

  • Seniors (60 and over): Through Martial Arts training, seniors can discover solutions for muscle pain and atrophy, gain flexibility, endurance and muscle strength while enhancing and prolonging quality of life and enjoying the security of knowing how to defend oneself.

Students get a great workout as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) uses the entire body. Men, women and children will benefit from training in Jiu Jitsu. No matter if your interest is in fitness, self-defense, or just to have a great time, you’ll love our Martial Arts program. As we have developed our students’ abilities, we would like to do the same for you. We believe that Martial Arts presents a holistic approach to the development and building of moral character, grounded ethics, sportsmanship and fair play. These intangibles, along with the ability to defend oneself, are immeasurable and beneficial to all individuals.
